Canon G1X
Mentioning rumors that Canon will present the latest generation of power shot ultimately proved at CES 2012. Canon released a camera that is reported is the successor of the Canon G12.
What’s interesting is that this camera has a sensor size of the largest of all Canon cameras in the category of point-and-shoot. With 1.5 inch size sensor, the sensor is larger than the micro four-thirds, although still smaller when compared with APS-C sensor DSLR used.
Force sensor is a 14.3 MP CMOS in which means it has a 6.3x more surface sensitive to light than the G12. Reportedly, the power shot of the latest G series is positioned as the successor to ‘brother’, the G12.
Targeting the two classes namely the pro photographers and amateurs, G1X has pro-level features like object shoot in RAW format and ISO reached 12.800. Of course he can also record 1080p HD video and has a 4x optical zoom with easy operation.
The design of this camera is not much different from the G12, which means he is held so as not to complicate comfortable shooting from a difficult angle. Only an integrated flash in the G12 is replaced with a manual pop-up flash on G1X.
The camera is pegged at a price of USD 800 (USD 7.3 million) was strolling in the CES, Las Vegas, USA along with other family namely ELPH PowerShot ELPH 520 and 110. All three cameras are already using Digic processor 5, an increase compared to last year’s models are still using Digic 4.
With a more capable processor, this camera can do burst shooting faster. Quoted from Mashable, Canon G1X will go on sale in February.
